Parker "Sparky" & Leo–Wonder Dogs

Day 1 - August 7, 2022
Parker "Sparky" bids farewell (Feb 14 2008-August 7 2022)🙏❤️🐕‍🦺Joe and I are swimming in commingled joy and sadness. Parker/Sparky made his journey to his Heavenly Home today at 10:35AM ❤️🐕‍🦺❤️ Amen🙏 We are grateful for the service rendered by Lap of Love who assisted in Sparky’s gentle and blessed transition 🙏🌈🐕‍🦺❤️ For the next 49 days we will be posting photos and tributes on Facebook. This is a sensitive very time for Sparky’s family. Please be gentle and curb your inquiries.🙏🌸

Day 2 - August 8, 2022
First, Parker "Sparky" and family thank you for the stream of loving condolences for Parker’s passing. Your love and support uplift us at this time. We know some are wondering... Here we will share what happened. Deep breath. About two months ago Sparky had a stroke/seizure that affected his right side and his stability. After several days he regained his strength although it really slowed Sparky down.

Then two weeks ago his right hind leg was giving out and was he increasingly exhibiting anxiety and pain. We immediately took Sparky to his vet, and it was determined that he would be given a prescription for nerve pain to see if he could overcome this episode. At first Parker rallied continuing to walk VERY SLOWLY.

After 10 days of treatment, it became obvious that he had increasing pain and diminished capacity to stand up and walk. At the exact same time Joe and I came to the same knowing. We looked at each other and Parker, and we just knew we had to help Our Boy to be released from this pain. The three of us sat together as we made the call to Lap of Love. The earliest appointment for the next morning, Sunday, August 7.

We situated ourselves in one of Parker’s favorite resting spots in our home. We expressed our love and gratitude for every special, beautiful, sweet, joyful moment we shared. We blessed Sparky with holy water and sacred rose oil. We gently slipped a blessing cord from HH Dalai Lama, and a lovely rosary around Parker’s beautiful neck.

I laid down and cuddled Sparky, his head resting on my outstretched arm. Joe was in front of Parker petting him with loving, soothing strokes. We whispered our gratitude, prayers, and good wishes for Sparky’s ongoing journey. The vet arrived and lovingly spoke with us and Sparky. After a short while Parker was administered a shot for relaxation. I could feel the tension leave his body, and we heard his famous snore for the first time in days. When he was in a deep relaxed sleep the final injection was given and Parker peacefully slipped out his ailing earthly body. After Sparky’s passing we place a white kata (cloth blessed by HH Dalai Lama) over his body, and wrapped him in his white blanket.

DAY 3 - August 9, 2022
SPARKY’S FIRST MIRACLE !!! We asked Parker Sparky as he was transitioning to send us a sign to let us know he was okay. We walked out with his shrouded body and helped put him the vet’s van. We walked out with the van and watched him make his way north on A1A. We walked around the front of The Summit and turned towards the beach where we gave a small tuff of his fur as an offering to the sea. We walked back in through the beach access door through the garage – a path we had walked hundreds of times since moving here. You can imagine how stunned we were when we saw the decorative license plate pictured here. That Sparky through his love and connection sent us a sign right away! DAY 3 - August 10, 2022
SPARKY’S SECOND MIRACLE !!! Parker "Sparky" sent us another sign! Joe and I were riding our bikes the Hollywood Broadwalk all the way to Dania Pier. I heard a familiar bird chirp. The sound was coming from the right side of the path. When I looked, there sitting on the wooden fence lining the path was a male cardinal. What was so remarkable about this moment is that cardinals are NOT INDIGENOUS to this region! It is said that red cardinals are one of the most common spiritual signs that people receive from Heaven. Oh Sparky! Thank you, Faithful Friend, for reminding us to stay in the moment and for continuing to send us messages of the unbroken love connection we will always share. You are our Love Dog! DAY 4 - August 11, 2022
SPARKY’S THIRD MIRACLE! WAIT! CALL THE VATICAN! Sir Parker is now Saint Sparky! As we sat on the beach shortly after sunrise, we noted how the ocean seemed to be grieving with us. Instead of its usual brilliant turquoise it was deep gray–almost black. Above the horizon line hung clouds at first formless as if painted in the sky. As the clouds began to part, we noticed a form within one cloud which was just like Parker‘s profile when he looked over his shoulder at us. His ‘glam’ pose. As I took a photo a light appeared on his crown. We love you Sir Parker a.k.a. Saint Sparky! Thank you for sending us your remarkable messages letting us know you are OK. Thank you, friends, for all your love, sharing your own stories with us, and enduring this process with us.

DAY 5 - August 12, 2022
My sister sent me a voice mail after seeing yesterday’s post with the ocean appearing as black ink. These are her words: “The water is the ink so that you can write to Parker to express how much love you have for him. The ocean is the ink well because that’s how much ink you would need to be able to tell Sparky Black-Lab how much you love him and all the things he has done for you in your life, in Joe’s life, in Mom’s life, in my life, and all the people who knew him.” Thank you, Sis, Cecily Mudita Sabato!

Always remember, Precious Sparky, we love you beyond measure and we are praying for your sweet soul every day. Thank you, Parker Sparky, for the ongoing signs you are sending us to reassure us you are well and happy and safe. Our bond will never be broken. We appreciate all of you, and we send out love and gratitude on behalf of Sparky and ourselves.

DAY 6 - August 13, 2022
❤️🐕‍🦺❤️Buddy Boy, Parker "Sparky", you taught us that change is inevitable in life. You were a good example of letting go. No matter what, you always had a joyous disposition and a smile on your face. You had to let go of my mom, who you had lived with. You had to go let go of Leo, the BIG coonhound, your friend and brother who passed away. You let go of our Kansas City Cherry Street home, family, friends, and familiar neighborhood. And now you gracefully and with dignity let go of your own body. You are here with us in every breath, sending signs that life is beautiful and worth celebrating. Thank you, Sweet Sparky. We love you❤️🐕‍🦺❤️ Gratitude and love to all our family and friends who are on this journey with us🙏🏼

DAY 7 - Part 1 - August 14, 2022
Our Sweet Boy, Parker "Sparky", passed away one week ago at 10:35-AM-CT-USA. We will be holding a short prayer vigil here at that time. If Sparky touched your heart in some way, please pause and join us in heart for a moment of remembrance and prayer🙏❤️🐕‍🦺❤️❤️ More later today🙏❤️ Saint Therese the Little Flower teaches, “Our fulcrum is God: our lever, prayer; prayer which burns with love. With that we can lift the world!” Let’s lift Parker’s soul and celebrate his many gifts in prayers❤️🐕‍🦺❤️

DAY 7 - Part 2 - August 14, 2022
Dear Boy, Our Sweet Parker "Sparky", ❤️🐕‍🦺❤️it was one week ago that you departed from your earthly body. We miss you beyond measure. We are grateful for the many little miracles and signs you have sent letting us know of your safe passage to your Heavenly Home. Today early this morning we walked to the Broadwalk to watch the sunrise. We sat in the same place we all sat together on the morning of your departure from this earth. In one way our hearts are filled with such sadness as well great gladness because we know that we have a bond that will never be broken.

As the old song says: “There is always something there to remind me.” So many people are asking after you, and when they hear of your passing tears well up in their eyes. You have touched so many hearts with your award-winning smile, your sweetness, your humor, and your GREAT HEART that made it easy for you to make so many friends. Just before the time of your passing, we sat in the place in our home where you took your last breath.

At the hour of your passing, we said prayers for love and light to cradle your precious heart and soul. Here we are sharing the photos of our last morning together, and a little retrospective film of the many adventures we had together in our hometown Kansas City and in our new hometown Hollywood. (So worth watching again and again!)

You were never very far from my side. I miss you so much. We will always love you throughout infinite time and space. Joe and I will continue to watch and pray over the coming weeks, being wakeful to your little signs and miracles. We still have some remarkable signs Sparky Parker has sent to us over this week, and we shall continue to post here from time to time. Thank you, Dear Family and Friends, for joining us in this love fest and remembrance. We love Sparky and we love all of you. May all beings know such love.❤️🙏
